This solved the issue but made the game look like sh*t, and that is lightly speaking. AFter a long search I found out that if you open the console panel (you have to add something to a config file for this) you can enter a command (viewmode unlit) and it should fix it. I tried lowering / changing different graphics settings, this also did not work. Turns out this is a issue many people have and that you have to remove certain shaders, either manually or through the mass effect configuration utility.
To start: All my drivers are up to date, my pc meets the minimum requirements (8gb of ram, Geforce 560 GTX, Windows 7 64x bit and a AMD FX-6100 FX Hexacore).ĮDIT: I have also installed the files from DX 9 that can sometimes be missing with DX 10 / 11 All textures became Black Boxes, What the fudge?! I am playing on ultra high resolution, shadows on etc. Whilst enjoying mass effect one I get to Noveria, so far everything is going fine. Recently I bought the Trilogy so I could have the third installment of the game together with the DLC for Me 1 and 2. I have played Mass effect 1 before on my system, through steam, which had no issues whatsoever.
